During this week, many persons has been posting on our site of contact with the readers, and many of them have congratulate us because of the information we are giving you about the hole process of the Professor X, but even that the interview to the media expert Alejandra Sanabria told us some important data to know about forensic science, there are still some questions to be solved, and the most important one was related to "the Newton's Law of cooling", so we asked the Media expert Alejandra Sanabria to come again and help us to solve the doubts about this term.
First of all, what is the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
The rule says that "when the surface temperature of an object changes at a rate proportional to its temperature", for example you put on a microwave and cup of water and you take it out and its temperature is 72ªcelcius, and your house has a temperature of 23ª, but you forget that you wanted a coffee, and the cup of water is abandon on the table of your house, as you know the temperature of the cup is going to be less when you return from your work or school, 5 hours later, but its temperature is never going to be less that the 23ª at which your house is।
What variables about the case of the professor X are related to the variables needed to get the time of dead of the Professor, following the Newton’s Law of Cooling?
The Newton’s Law of Cooling involves many variables of which the ones we also know are the environmental temperature, the constant "k" (that is a constant that depends on the situations), and 2 more variables that are the temperature 1 and the temperature 2 of the body, which are measure after finding the body at two different times।
According to this Law, at what time approximately the death happened?
For now because of the investigation is open I cannot revel you so much information about this but as soon as we get the guilty, I, personally, am going to tell यू
How does the room temperature affect the time of death?
By following the Newton’s Law of Cooling, we say that the temperature of a object cant go lower than the temperature of the room where it is ,because between the difference of the temperature of the body and the room is bigger, the cooling is going to happen in a different rate that if the temperatures, of the body and the room, are almost the same ones।
How does an illness, like fever, affect the time of death?
It affects by changing the values and conditions of the original temperature of the body, because when a person is healthy its temperature is approximately 98.6 but if the person was sick this temperature varies and then the time of death is different
How exact is the approximation of the Newton’s Law of Cooling for predicting the time of death?
It is very secure, but not one hundred percent exact, on terms of criminology it gives us a very reliable data about the hour when the person was killed but we are never going to be complete sure of something like this, a least, that we were on the crime scene at the time of the action and looking at the clock.
Changing the topic how is the investigation doing?
Well actually we have just finishing getting all the clues from the crime scene, so the data that will help us to solve the crime is not ready yet, but we are going to have a reunion soon I can not say anything more because of my compromise and the confidence we must keep, but if something else is revealed, we are going to inform you to you can keep the people updated.
Thanks again to Alejandra Sanabria for her help and we hope this interview had help you, I think the doubts about this term are done, but any other doubt you have, contact us and we are going to be in contact with the team in charge of the investigation and of course any other information we get is going to be posted on these page the soonest possible.
Like the question that Juan Perez asked us the last week; that was: “in which other subjects is the calculus applied, and how?”, we are going to talk to and expert on mathematics soon, to ask him/her this questions, that now are like our principal learning goals, because we already solved the ones about the Newton’s law of cooling.
For the last thing some of you should be asking yourself, why they call the professor X in that way?, actually his name is Xavier Xochicali Ximénez, so the students started calling him professor XXX, or just Professor X, that’s what one of his students, Peter, said about this.
